Humm, the only way I can boot into OSX on my partitioned hard is to use XpostFacto in OS9, or I just end up in open firmware 2.4 and can only boot to OS9 in that. Maybe that is one of the symptoms of the main problem. Maybe my processor isn't a complete G3 anymore. I am going to try the 233 and see if it is any faster.

Odd, I have OS X.2.8 running on three Beige G3s. Most have a partitioned drive, non use XPF, all boot okay.
