Listfolx,

This one is hurting my brain. I just received a Beige G3 desktop. I was told it was a 333, and figured it was a mistake, it had been upgraded, or it was overclocked.

I got home tonite, and there it was waiting for me. I began the check and test routine. Opened it up, checked it out. Saw a couple of Rev. A stickers, checked the label on the proc (xpc300, as I expected), the warranty sticker is in place, ATI Rage II+DVD,audio perch card (with AIO connections- slightly odd, but not an issue), all in order. Close it up, hook it all up, fire off system profiler. hmmm...got a rev 2 rom, that's good (45F1). MAchine speed 333? WTH? Searched for some software in case there was a way to overclock that I didn't know about...nothing.... Shut the G3 down, dissconnected it, popped the top...yep, it sez 300. Yep, the seal over the jumper block is intact, and shows no signs of removal.

Has anyone ever seen such a thing? Overclocked from the factory? The Rom Change was easy enough, but the rest I am befuddled by.
