Networking question in OS X

In OS 9, there was a File Sharing option that you could set to 
automatically have a location mount when you started up your machine.  
For example, i could connect my laptop to my little network and my 
desktop's hard drive would mount.

For some reason, I cannot figure out how to do this in OS X (version 
10.3.4).  Is there a way?
