Samsung and LG make good LCD monitors if you want to go that way. Personally I cannot justify paying AUS$1275 for a 17" Apple TFT Display when all it offers is a couple of USB ports over an LG 17" TFT selling for under $600! Also remember that pixels can fail on an LCD/TFT so you may want to check the warranty before purchasing as some will replace it with say two failed pixels, whereas others won't. I presently use a PC monitor with my G4 but will probably get a non-Apple TFT or 17" Apple Studio Display (thinnk it's Mitsubishi Diamondtron).

I have always liked the Trinitron monitors and are sold under several Brands including Apple. You can get a nice 17 inch Sony for a good price about anywhere.
