Hi Jim,

Two things (and I'm assuming this guy is using Outlook Express): It sounds
like his mailbox may need repair (notice I didn't say "corrupt") and he
probably should try reinstalling it; secondly, he may have picked up some
sort of virus (even if it's gone now, it may have done damage) or malicious
program. Thirdly, he may have his mailbox set to not accept messages over a
certain number of kilobytes, which would cause the message to be broken
apart or his ISP may have something set like that. I know when my mailbox is
TOO FULL messages start breaking up, which signals me to empty it (I'm
talking several thousand messages) and run the repair disk (I use Outlook
2000, though, and do have a disk to do that). The repair disk always fixes
it even if I don't empty anything.

Hi Jen, I have a question concerning PCs & email attachments.

First of all read the following:

Hi Larry

This topic has been discussed here before and I think it came down to
something to do with resource forks, as I understand it the attachment
is broken down into various bits and sometimes they don't get put
together again properly, hence "file cannot be opened" "file is
truncated" especially, i've found, with jpegs. This seemed, to me at
least, to be pretty much a mac xmailer (the Mail app) problem, I use
thunderbird for my email now and it is far superior at handling
attachments IMHO.

I think it was Bruce who gave the best explanation of why it happens, if
yoou search the G-List archive you may be able to find the relevant threads.

Hope this helps.

First of all this guy Larry lives in Sweden and I don't know if that is an
issue or not.

Second of all, I remember hearing somewhere that PCs get confused with an
extension of .mpeg verses .mpg.

Yes, No?

And what do you think about this guy's problem? I don't remember you & I
having much of a problem in this area.

Regards

Jim
