So, I have been thinking of getting a video capture card for my G4 (I'm using a Xclaim VR on my 6400 to occasionally move video from (analog) camcorder to .mov for use in powerpoint presentations).
I have both CPUs on my desktop, sharing a monitor, but I'm slowly tring to transition away from the 6400.
How well does the Alchemy G/4G5 card work? The model without the remote is $119 at OtherWorld Computing. How does this compare in performance to the XClaim VR on the 6400 (viewing and recording?)
I don't have a firewire-capable camcorder yet, but I will sometime- will this work with iMovie or FinalCut or whatever the Apple movie making thing is, or are they firewire-only? How bad/capable is the bundled software for capturing etc?
Thanks,
Brian
