I've been piecing together a Blue and White G3 for about a month now. I've got the case, Logic board, 450MHz G3, The Video Card, DVD-ROM, power supply, fire wire board, and all the cables, and two 40-gig hard drives. It has come down to two things before I try to turn it on: Memory, and a CPU heatsink. I'm lining up a deal with a friend to buy four 128MB ram sticks from him, so the memory is going to get worked out. The problem is: I need to get a Heatsink. Not just any heatsink. I don't want the stock heatsink! I want a heatsink with a fan on it! Preferably copper based too! You see, although the CPU that I have is 450MHz I fully intend to overclock it to 500 - 550MHz. Just because I can. I want a heatsink that can take that type of heat and get it away from my CPU better than the stock passive aluminum heatsink can. That leaves me trying to figure out what heatsink is going to fit onto my G3! Does anyone here know what The ZIF in the B&W translates to in the PeeCee world of heatsinks? Size wise socket A, socket 7, Socket 370, all that jazz? Also I know I'm going to have a clearance issue, with the zip drive bay being so close to the CPU how much space do I have there? What are the exact dimensions of the stock heatsink? Not the small one, or the one that came with the beige G3, but the larger one with the contoured fins to adjust for the zip bay? Thanks in advance for any help and advice!
