I use a permanent Sanford felt-tip marker designed for CD-R's. (of course, it came with a pack of cd's so it was kind of a no-brainer.)

Yeah, I do that on a lot of the ones I make...

Labels are not recommended on CD-R's' they can make the disk off balance, and the adhesive can degrade the data layer.

This per the NIST: <http://www.itl.nist.gov/div895/carefordisc/index.html>

That said, the latest version of iTunes will do jewel box liners and labels for burned , and Version tracker lists a half-dozen programs to do that. :

You can also find templates at most label manufacturers for a variety of programs.

Never was one for taking the advice of the so-called experts. I've been using labels on CD-Rs as long as I've been burning them. Never had a problem... YET! I downloaded disclabel a short time ago and have been playing with it. Now this is more like what I had in mind. Of course the labels print out with DEMO written on them, but at least I can see what it will do and it looks pretty good. If anyone else has a suggestion, please fire away!

Just a message from Doug...
