Have you repaired permissions?  Have you tried going into Open Firmware 
and resetting?  Try these before you give up ship.  You might also tru 
using Pacifist to open the OS X installers and reinstall the USB 
software.

U sure on that? I thought I needed to have the USB
card in place if
the OS
was to pick it up and install drivers? While we're
at it, is it the
same
deal for Firewire cards?
