Okay I finally got it to boot via 9.1 CD. I erased the 9.2.2 partition and then reset directly to 10. yeah it's not dead in the water! on the other hand, I've tried to do the holding down command(apple key)-option-P-R but nothing happened. what was supposed to happen?
Hold it down until the system restarts; you'll hear the startup chime.
I did manage to get the firmware to update in all this madness, but it didn't fix my weird memory reporting problem. There is this one dimm, thats made by a weird company it might be the problem, but the rest it from Viking, and Samsung. all Cas latency 3-2-2. So I'm not sure if they are really the source of my problems. I'll just have to play around and see.
If they're bad, it doesn't matter what brand they are, but yeah I'd first suspect the oddball.
P.S. - What's this about carriage returns?
