S-Video as ADB extender?

I may be completely reinventing the wheel at this very moment ... but 
... has anyone used S-Video cables as ADB extenders? When I 
accidentally plugged my keyboard in my A/V card's S-Video input the 
other day I thought that it just might work. I experimented last night 
with an ADB keyboard connected to my Beige G3 via S-Video cable and it 
worked just fine. Do anyone know if there is any wiring differences? I 
ask this because I am looking at an ADB KVM and don't know where I can 
easily pick up the ADB extender cables. S-Video cables are a different 
matter ... I can get those at Wal-Mart or RadioShack. Thanks for the 
input!
