Hi Brian,

You said you replaced the hard drive. Did you take the old one out and add a
new ATA/IDE drive as a master? Did you double check that the jumpers are set
right.

The reason I ask is, Ive made the mistake before when swapping drives in
and out and forgetting to reset a jumper and then have my computer just sit
there.

If the board is rev 1, it wont allow you to use a master and slave drive
configuration. There are 2 IDE slots on the mb, so if you want to run 2
drives you need 2 separate cables and both drives must be set to master.

If it is a revision 2 or 3 board then Im fairly sure you can have a
master/slave on the same cable. But you cant really tell until you can get
the computer to boot. One of mine actually had a little sticker inside the
case (near the power supply) that states Rev 1.

And what was that about the memory? You tested both and they are bad? If you
have a bad memory module in these machines they will usually start to boot
and then youll hear a sound like breaking glass and then nothing.

I would also yank out all the memory and install just one module that you
know is good.

Good luck.

Geno
