I too have PC133 chips and PC100 running on a G3 DT. But if you have 256MB chips, they must have 8 chips on each side (16 total). If they only have 8 chips total, then the memory controller will only see the first 128MB of ram. So the chip will work but you�ll only be using half of the memory on a 256MB chip.
I don�t understand this completely, but know it to be true by trial and error.
