Well that makes me feel a whole lot better ;-) A year ago I had an identical model repaired (I think the head had worn, which seems to be the usual cause of failure) and it cost me the same amount as it just did to buy a refurbished one (about �120/$200...now you can see why I'm sobbing) to partner it. These things in the UK seem to have reached a point where if you're not buying through eBay, etc. they've gone as low as they're going to, regardless of age. A bit like a good diesel car. Saying that, the 1533's I've used up to now have taken a hammering and have still given me 4-5 years of service between repairs or replacement.
