Installing Panther

[GDB-Dell-WinME]

I just got my newly purchased copy of Panther in today, 10.3.2 I think.  
I want to install it on my B&W G3 400 Mhz  system which has an 80 Gb HD 
installed as a second drive.  The machine has a DVD-ROM drive in it now, 
which I plan to change to a 48x LiteOn CDRW/DVD combo drive.  Is it best 
to change the drive prior to installing 10.3.2 or does it matter?  Then 
can I upgrade all the way to 10.3.5?
