I use AIM and love it. I'm sure it runs on 9.2.2, although I only have 
9.1 (on my G3) and 7.5.5 (on my PB 190), but it works great on both of 
those OS's. I can't speak to how it works with other IM apps because all 
my chat buddies either have AIM or are on AOL, but I can transfer files 
and folders (both text and pictures) to them, and can receive the same 
from them as well.

I definitely recommend it.  :-)
