I have two good B&Ws (both are Rev. 2s) and two bad B&Ws (both are Rev. 1s). The lights (little green LEDs) on the motherboard are a good trouble shooting tool. While I don't know the significance of all of them, there appear to be one for each UATA/EIDE bus, one for the USB or Firewire ports, and numerous others, each of which cycle in a predictable fashion in a working machine. When the cycling of the lights is not "right" it's just about assured that the machine won't boot ... even if the chimes comes on at power-on. Sadly, I've not developed my B&W skills well, so I need crutches like the lights. -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
