Howdy,

Ive got both a DSL connection with Verizon in my office and a Comcast cable
connection at home. They are pretty much the same.

Comcast has in the past been anal about multiple computers using the same
account. I dont know if this is still true, but I didnt bother to ask them
either. I know they charged my brother for an additional IP address. I just
installed a wireless router for home.

Set up is a no problem (Verizon or Comcast), but as someone mentioned, the
techs dont know anything about Macs. I was told (Comcast) that you had to
be running OS 9 in order to install the modem. No such thing. OS 8.6 would
have been fine.

Yes, an Ethernet modem would be my preference too. I really dont think it
makes that much difference what brand you get. Ive had modems from all
kinds of companies and they all work. Some just take a little persuasion.
Check out what modem Comcast will rent you for their monthly fee and buy it
on the net. Then youre sure to be okay.

Good luck!

Geno
