Personally, I would look into getting one of the keyboards
that came with the early Performas or the LC I/II/or III.

That's what I've got!

I've got tons of the early ones that came with the SE and the
late ones that came with the LC 475.

The basic keyboard fits but not the keypad.

I may chop the circuitboard/matrix, fold it ove (under) and
solder all connections, thus retaining the ADB port as well.

...Then again, I haven't used any except the IIe series

Apple ][ plus/europlus and ][e look pretty much the same.
