Apologies if this is in the FAQ, but the site seems inaccessible at the

I'm finally taking the plunge and upgrading from 10.2.8 to 10.3.5
System: G4 AGP (Sawtooth) 500MHz 1GB RAM

Did a backup with CCC.

Problem: Both "Upgrade" and "Archive and Install" proceed fine, but when
re-booting (immediately after install) into Panther it stalls. The
spinning wheel (? not beachball) just keeps going. I left it overnight and
it was the same this morning. I've repeated this twice with each.

Erase and install works fine.

So, two questions:

1. Can I Archive and Install? Upgrade? (not preferred as I've been wanting
to do a clean install for a while). What's up?

2. If I can't do that, what's the best method of transferring all the
user and network info over from the backup to Panther?

Thx.
