A Router would be the best option but a $5.00 10BaseT hub would work as
well... That's if you did not want to fork out for the router.

If you go with a hub, keep in mind it may slow the DSL speed down. Probably not all the time but at least while they are doing big print jobs. Someone with a similar hub arrangement may be able to share their experiences. Going with a router should avoid any such data slow down.

Curious about the "router/adapter" configuration that they already have in place?

I talked my neighbor into getting dsl now I need help.
they have a g4 mac Ithink running 9..0
it has only one Ethernet port . The actiontec dsl modem needs the ethernet
port and they have an old Apple Laser Writer Pro Printer that has the old
type of connection on it. They have rigged it thru some kind of
> router/adapter and that is using the Ethernet port. If there some way for
BOTH of them to use the Ethernet? the actiontec dsl does not have any more
Ethernet ports on the back of it and neither does the adapter. Is there some
kind of adapter to either put the printer on the usb or firewire?
I think the actiontech dsl has to stay on tthe Ethernet tho it does come
with a usb modem cable but the isp I work for said the mac wont work with
 the usb cable.
hmmm . anyhelp would be GREATLY appreciates asap as I feel like dumb.
