Removing the preferences on the StarMax and rebuilding the "Users and Groups" data file and the Sharing permissions have allowed me to get access from my Beige 3.

I did not know that a corrupted file on an Point to Point server could cause a client to crash.
This is one of my favorite pet peeves... Software that does no checking for "data errors" (badly typed data, disk corruptions, etc). Very lame. Shoddy design, lazy implementation. Bad data should NEVER EVER be permitted to cause software to crash or hang.
