(Sorry if this is a repeat, I just changed email clients.)

First, let me echo a warning I saw here too late: DO NOT install an older version of OSX over a newer one, even when trying to recover a system that is ultra-flaky, can't print when it could before, can't see installed drives and has Finder crashes!

I finally had to hire authorized Apple onsite tech support--and he determined the "retro-install" was my primary problem, plus a failing external hard drive, not to mention bad network configuration instructions from my router tech support.

All better now--just as my new G5 arrived.

So many posters seem interested in B&W G3 systems that I will take inquiries about my old one by direct e-mail. It's a 350/CD/DVD/Zip rev. 1, 768 MB RAM with a ProMax controller card driving an extra 18 GB drive (room for more) and a basic SCSI card. Original box, keyboard, mouse, etc, plus a Family Pack OSX 10.2 CD--and a brand new battery. Oh, and my old Quadra 800 needs a home, too.
