Safari does do popup blocking, but Mozilla kicks Safari's scrawny little butt on OS X, imo.
I use Firefox, actually, day in/out on my OS X systems. It's the browser-only version of Mozilla.
I use Mozilla and Firefox, I think they are way better than Safari.
