I am pretty sure the windows networking in OS X is based on Samba so you should be able to print with any 3rd party software, but I can't remember if I set it up on my Pismo before or not. I know 10.3's Rendezvous networking makes Mac to Windows networking more point and click, but you should be able to do it in 10.2.

The wintel boxes run W2Kpro and the Mac's 10.3.5. All have individual USB ink jets and there's one laser network printer. Printer sharing is enabled on all and there is no hassle at all the peecees can print to any Mac printer and the Mac's can print to the peecee printers. Some missing component may be the culprit.
