Got a couple of questions regarding my beige G3. I'm using 10.2.8 and I'm totally befuddled by the settings to connect to a windows network and a printer connected to a windows computer, as opposed to being a standalone network printer. I can connect to my 3400C , no problem - rather the G3 can connect, I can't seem to be able to browse my G3 from the 3400c but I can work that out, probably. I've installed the two apps which seem to be required for Jaguar, one is Ghostscript and the other is Gimp-print. (Why do these sounds like they are Linux based?) I installed Ghostscript first by accident, hopefully that won't make a difference.
Everything worked fine following the steps from here : http://homepage.mac.com/william_white/print_to_windows.html until I tried to Add a printer while holding the option key. No advanced dialogue came up so I assume there is no "additional CUPS printing information". Any ideas? Scanner is attached to the Mac and my wife wants me to print what I scan for her (right now I upload it and print from photobucket.com if you can believe it). Also, do I have to identify the windows network I want to browse and , if so, how do I do that? If anyone has even a link to a site that will explain this, that would help a lot. Thanks in advance.
