Apples, oranges and then PC. You all get excited over this 9200 PCI card. If
apple had any brains they would still design a better computer then the pc's
and still dont. I have been a die hard obsessed Apple fan for years and I
would rather use no other computer as my main system then a Mac, however the
PC and windows platform is far better configured then the Mac could dream.
But its not just apples fault, its the other third party companies fault.
9200 is no card to get excited over, I have a 9550 and the reason I got the
card is because it was dual monitor, and I love the dual on my Mac and I
wanted my pc to have the same. I didnt care to much about speed, just
wanted enough to do video and some light games but games that require a
powerful card, and this is it. I had no given clue how fast the 9550 was
till I saw it. It was 3 times faster then I required. Every thing I do gets
perfect frame rate. I picked a winner by accident. Lets compare Apples
stupidity to a pc.

My Mac : Beige rev 3 mini tower
3pci slots 2 IDE ports era of system year 97/98
PC's had 6 PCI USB AGP year 98/99 I think even sooner too except AGP.
Mistake B&W No APG no 6 PCI
Pc's Had it.

Today's System's (With exception to current right now 64 bit systems.)

Lets compare a G4 and a AMD Athlon XP and P4 Systems:
G4 Mirror door system Height is dual G4 at 1.45GHZ
4PCI USB 2.0 FW plus Audio, ATA interface 4x AGP, cost for that system was
around $3000 to $3500
Most of you know the basic config the system had. Now lets compare a pc and
price.

Single AMD Athlon XP 2700 (333FSB) running at 2.15GHZ
Processor not important with my point. (You all know the Mac wins in speed)
2-SATA ports, 4 onboard USB, 2 port Gig Ethernet, built on sound 6.1, and
the usual legacy pc ports. 3GB Ram support 8x AGP 6 count them 6 PCI! Since
we know what a Mac comes with I will need to state what's in my pc for the
price compare.

Athlon Xp 2700
512MB
Radeon 9550 AGP 8X card
80GB SATA Seagate (on its way) (Plus a 120GB external Seagate USB2 DRIVE,
not being add to config just a nice drive to mention)
2- 16x10x40 CDRW and a DVD Rom soon to add DVD DL +-RW drive.
8x AGP and 6 PCI system board ASUS #1 Motherboard brand on the market not
cheap PC crap. Fully loaded. Multimedia keyboard Logitech! A Mac fav!
But PC tower and monitor HP MX50 Totaling under $800 brand new and freshly
built, even have a old UW SCSI system in it to be replaced with 320 SCSI.

PC are cheaper with more expansion options at a lesser cost then Mac
comparable. I can build a better pc then a Mac could dream of competing
with, with exception of speed, you dont have the hardware to do it the
speed is worthless even software. Hardware is better done then software
driven like Macs are commonly. I need a Mac tower with PCI slots not no
stupid dumb machine like a iMac. I'm a Serious user on a very tight budget,
and even if I weren't Macs just aren't that great with the goodies. You
stupid Mac users NEVER voice enough like the PC users PC users get what they
want while us Mac people still wait. And you all know the lowest Mac tower
sucks! it never fails. There the most glitchy. I can put 4 even 5 HD's in a
pc Macs are now 2, and dont give me heat stories, there's good fixes for
that. Even with noise levels. Most Mac stuff is expensive external shit when
internal is cheaper and better performing. Mac people get off your Assess
and demand Apple make a better Cheaper system with out sacrificing quality.
PC's do it the Mac can too. As fare as operating systems, Linux is as good
as OSX there both UNIX. I hate windows I want a good cheap Mac tower with
the power. I voice you should too. Then we wouldnt get so excited over a
inferior card!

Just my 2 cents.
