I have just bought a 350MHz B&W 512MB RAM etc, inkl. monitor
for $100 (equivallent) and I'll be sticking it in a Mac II case.

A 1980's grey Mac with original keyboard/mouse running Panther. :o)

Blue and White G3s will LIVE FOREVER!!!!! <2001 Tune Plays in the Background>
I only wish I had one :-(
But, I believe that all PowerBooks and iBooks have ADB keyboards, which you can see by pressing ctrl, command, power. It restarts immediately. But on USB, it will close everything down first. :-)

I could be totally wrong here but I installed 10.3 on a beige G3 266 (ADB ports and all) and was even able to get a Stylewriter 1200 printer to work using CUPS (using xpostfacto). It also supported an external modem.
Of course using modern Macs under 10.3 is NEVER a problem. It only becomes a problem when you try to continue using old world Macs to do the things that were designed to work on new world Macs.
I know a lot of you are resistant to change and will continue using your Blue & White G3's well into the next century....so, I'll shut up now.

I have just upgraded my B&W G4 to 10.3 (from 9.2) and am surprised to find
that the adb port works. I thought this was abandoned by Apple.

Are you nutz?
Apple has been intentionally ripping support for legacy hardware OUT of OS X.
Don't remind them that this is still there!!!!
:)
Exterminate all rational thought.
