i'm assuming this is a usb keyboard? yes, the newer macs will do that, if you can
find a
keyboard with a power key, or if you use an adb keyboard with an adapter and don't
have a
hub between it and the mac (the eject key was going to be a power key, and the computer
still has the hardware, even though it's a violation of the adb spec, which is why it
won't work through a hub, and why apple changed it to an eject key to avoid tech
support
calls every time someone wondered why it didn't work through a hub. if they are adb
based
machines, the keyboard is the preferred way to turn them on, for many at least
(particularly if they are under the table). many of the mac power buttons are a bit
flaky
at times, partially due to the long plastic actuators sometimes used. now you just
need
to run some diagnostic software on that machine for awhile and see what shakes loose,
hopefully nothing.

President George W. Bush, Vice President Richard B. Cheney, Secretary of Defense
Donald H. Rumsfeld,
and Attorney General John D. Ashcroft have committed violations and subversions of the
Constitution
of the United States of America. <www.VoteToImpeach.org> They should be charged with
high treason
and imprisoned frankly. If there is no rule of law there can be no civilization.
