They couldn't; they weren't C&G's programs. C&G were publishers of other people's programs. When they closed, the rights reverted to the original owners. Links to most of them are at the old C&G site.
Some are still for sale, some have languished, and some, like Glider Pro, have been released as freeware. Dunno if any have been open sourced.
