You cannot boot from a Panther CD on a G3 without running it thru XpostFacto
first. When you try, it's like you don't have XPF at all. Can you boot to
OS9? DO you have OS9? If you don't, then you will have to either reinstall
OS9 (or Jaguar 10.2) before reinstalling XPF and then Panther. I know it's a
pain, but that's the price of Panther. Or you could just settle for Jaguar
(it runs just fine on my G3AIO).
