Hi,
I've been using a borrowed external FireWire Pioneer
DVR-107 and liked it. I'd like to buy one for myself and
found there is also the Pioneer DVR-108 which costs about
the same as the 107 plus it supports double-layer burning
so I'd like to go for it. I already have the updated
version of Toast Titanium.
Does anybody on the list already have some experience
with the 108 on a beige MT running both 9.2.2 and OSX
10.3.5?
DVD-video under OS9 runs smoothly using the hacked Apple
DVD-player 2.7 (with Radeon 7000 PCI) but under OSX I
can't watch DVDs at all, way too much dropped frames and
hashed sound. I tried VCL-player and MPlayer, all sorts
of versions.
Would it help to copy the DVD to the harddisk first under
OSX and play it from there? What do you guys with a beige
do to get decent DVD-video under OSX? Or should I just
fuggeddaboutit and stick with OS9?
Thanx, Jrg.
