I set up an OS X machine as a file server, using this great program called Sharepoints. You can find it on versiontracker.com. I believe the program is free, they do ask for donations. You can set up shared folders like in OS 9, and then set the permissions for that folder. Once you do that, it's set. I highly recommend the program.

The problem I have is with Ownership and Permissions. When my secretary creates forms, I have no problem with them being read only for everyone else. The clients files and folders are another matter. I want everyone to be able to read and write to these folders and files. I have used get info to change the permissions to read and write at the file level, at the subfolder level and at the client level, (and selected the button to apply to enclosed items) which works fine for the existing folders and files. But every time a new file or folder is created, it is read only for everyone other than the person who created it. It's driving me nuts having to change ownership and permissions for every file just as soon as its created. Is there a way to make these setting stick, or am I missing something.
