Microtek ScanMaker 4800 not working. I found a cold soldier joint on the USB connecter, something that Microtek could not. I fixed it. My problem is I only have 2 USB ports on my G3 beige Mac. I run my printer via one port to a USB switch, which I share with my wifes PC. If I put my mouse on the other port and run the scanner through the USB hub, the scanner is not found. With the mouse on the other port, the scanner is found. If I put the scanner on the other USB port, the mouse only works when the USB switch is set to my Mac. Switch to the PC and the mouse does not work. Any ideas? Would another USB hub solve this problem?
