I've got a 733 cpu card (out of either a DA or Quicksilver, don't know
which) that I would like to put into my Sawtooth. From reading at
XLR8yourmac, I know that it will work, but you have to either remove or
relocate the ide connector, and also supply 12v to the cpu card thru the
unused mounting hole. I can handle all that. The part that has me
confused is regarding mods for bus speed and multiplier on the card ( I
think). The way I understand it is that you have to change something
because of the difference in bus speeds between the sawtooth and the
donor. Then you can change the clock multiplier to optimize the speed.
So far I haven't found anyplace that explains how this part of the swap
is done in simple terms. Has anybody made this swap and can explain just
what needs to be done? Or can you point me to a website that explains
this plainly? Preferably with pics......
Thanks!
