My old serial ScanMaker E6 is great for this... objects 4-5cm from the platen are still in focus.
Well, I tried the Canon for his today... and only the parts of the shell touching te glass are in focus. GREAT... I bought the scanner just for this purpose, and wasted y money Now I have to figger out how to run the E6 from a Serial port... or just use it on the old 6116 G3.
Anyone know if the LiDE30 focus is fixed, or can it be altered? If not, I'll have to try to return it as unsuitable for purpose.
