Peter and Bruce, pretty much answered this one already.

Any Beige G3 with a Rev B or C ROM, supports two devices per ATA interface.
All you need is a new ATA cable (one which has both device connectors). Just
make sure the new cable is long enough to reach across the motherboard and
under the CD-ROM.


In fact if you can find the right ATA cable, one that is long and has some
length between device connectors, you could swap out the floppy drive,
instead of the Zip. (You might also need a power splitter.)
