I upgraded my G4 300MHz "Sawtooth" with a Sonnet 1GHz last year.
Even though mine was not a 'ZIF' upgrade, it was very easy.
It took me less than 5 minutes. I imagine a ZIF would be even easier.
Yes, the speed bump was noticeable and for me the Sonnet has given my machine another 3 years of
useful life. A G5 would be nice, but I can wait. An iPod - now that's another story.
