If Apple decided to simply prevent installation on G3s then they'd block
owners of G3 iBooks that are only a couple of years old, which wouldn't
look too good, so it would have to be a block specific to B&Ws. I suppose
they could write the installer so that it stopped if it saw an ADB port :-)

My B&W is still on OS9 at the moment (plus an unused OS X 10.1.5
partition) - I've stuck with this for running older software and using my
Voodoo 3 card, while my iBook runs Panther. The future of "Blue" hangs in
the balance until Tiger comes out, at which point I'll have to decide
whether there's any point upgrading it to run Apple's latest and
greatest, keep it going as an OS9 workstation or relegate it to server
duty running OS9 or 10.1.5. Decisions...decisions...
