Here is how it happens: I will be working on my computer or installing something, especially system upgrades, and the screen goes black, monitor light stays green for a few seconds, then goes orange. There is no change in sound from the computer. The temperature of the cpu and HD stays the same. (I have remotes sensors attached to my cpu and HD and it did the same thing before they were attached, that is why I got them) The temp on both run about 103-105F when in operation. I am using a G3 DT 450/768. This usually happens about once every one to two weeks, but last time it happened two days in a row. The second time was while trying to install OSX 3 while using XpostFacto. It seems to be indiscriminate in its stopping. When you say "firmware" what can be done?
