I just purchase one also, using it with a G4 yikes. It works fine if I don't set a password for the network, but I don't know how to use it when there is a network password. Can you please enlighten me?

It found our wireless network with no problems along with four others in our immediate neighborhood. One of our neighbors has all the security/encryption turned off on their wireless network. I was able to connect to it too, with no problems, although the signal was weak.
Although I can not find any specific comments at the moment, I understand these USB wireless devices don't work as well on USB PCI cards added to older Macs. YMMV
