>This occurred after a firmware update1.6.4 was applied to my
ATTO UL2D SCSI card in 9.2.2,

Return to 1.4.4, which you will have to ask ATTO's customer support for.

1.6.4 has given me nothing but grief.

I have that firmware. As I said, that is exactly what I plan to do except for the problem of not being able to boot into OS 9 in order to re-install the older firmware. 9.2.2 won't boot (hard freeze) with the card installed after the 1.4.4 firmware update. The update or firmware change can only be done from OS 9 on this UL2D card. (Newer cards have OS X firmware flashers/driver installers.

Also Peter, I have asked this before but not got an answer: are you using this card in both OS 9 and OS X? If you are using it in OS X is this the driver? -
ATTOExpressPCI.kext v. 1.1.0

Can any other drivers from their other cards be used?

*This is an ongoing, unsolved issue between this card and my Cheetah drive that I originally posted two months ago. I got several sideways replies, then the posts get hijacked in a different direction without moving forward and nothing comes of it. Pertinent background-
-Stock Beige G3 Rev A
-Seagate Cheetah LVD/SE works (slowly) on the internal 50 pin SCSI bus terminated OR UNTERMINATED I just found out, even tho the drive provides no self termination. ?
-ATTO and 68 pin cable work when adapted to an old quantum drive I had laying around, set to ID 0

Thanks, Mike
