Thanks for the info Are!  Unfortunately I got frustrated, reinitialized the
drive and did a clean install.  Thanks to all those who responded.  Come to
think of it now that I've done the clean install I just realized how much
crap I had on the drive in the first place.  Sometimes you just gotta look
for that silver lining (even as hard to swallow as it is).
