I think that it may be helpful to take a look at the brief professional biography of J. Rudy Harford, the inventor of the series mode technology used in the Zero Surge and Brick Wall units.
> Jack "Rudy" Harford began his engineering career developing ground tracking > equipment for this country's first satellite at the US Army civilian research > laboratory. Later he worked on proposals for the forerunner of the "Star Wars" > program where interception of incoming missiles was the goal. At RCA he > developed some of the first integrated circuits to be used in television. In > 1989, Mr. Harford introduced a Series Mode Surge Suppressor that he developed. > He was granted two patents for this new technology and was named New Jersey > "Inventor of the Year" in 1991. He holds 38 US patents and over 300 worldwide. http://www.techsavvy.com/industry/file/national/03v0r/pwc04.html?id=98092&co mp_id=03V0R&base_region=* If Phillip can post his corresponding information, the readers of this list may have some basis for weighing his opinion against that of Mr. Harford. For my part, I am sending Phillip's criticism to Brick Wall, Zero Surge and Adcom in hopes of a reply. I may also send it to some of the customers listed on the Zero Surge website, whose testimonials indicate that they have technical expertise, with a request for comments. I am not able to defend Harford's invention because I am not qualified. Perhaps somebody I contact will offer some defense to be posted on this forum.
