The problem is kinda solved, except that DVD Player wasn't installed as
no DVD player was connected when installing Panther with the CD/RW
drive.  :o/

You can use Pacifist http://www.charlessoft.com/ to install the DVD
player components from your OS X CDs.  I just had to do that on a B&W a
month or so ago.
