I need to move my user file to another HD partition--my 7.9 GB partition with OSX on it is too full to install a program I need. I got the instructions from the Bombich site for using the Terminal to accomplish this. When I tried it everything (and there was lots) that came up in the terminal window was followed by: "insufficient disk space". The partition I am trying to move it to has over 40 GB of space available, so I don't know why it would say this. Can anyone help me with this? This is my first attempt to use Terminal, so I'm not real familiar with it. Is there another way to get my user file moved?
You don't need to use Terminal to move it, dragging your Home Directory in Finder will work.
The only thing you need Terminal for is to make the link.
