Yes, this enables Appleshare over IP, and is needed for routers (like yours) that don't pass Appletalk.

WAN <-> Router <-> LAN <-- multiple clients.
Are you saying there's something foo with the hub/switch on the LAN side of the Router that it won't pass AppleTalk packets back to the LAN clients? At that level, those are just ethernet packets. They should be switched with no problemo, regardless of what protocols are encapsulated within!
You're right. The LAN side should work no matter what.
Or are you talking about the Router only being able to route IP packets out the WAN port?
