Re: Mac Help crashes

Thanks for the reply. I tried booting from all three of the install 
CDs but it seems there is no option to do anything but run the 
installer. So I couldn't repair Disk Permissions from  a CD. (BTW, 
the  CDs are ones I bought from OWC. They are labelled eMac).

I booted from a TechTool Deluxe CD, ran all the tests and nothing was 
found to be a problem. But it seems that the TTD tests are mainly 
hardware tests.

I still haven't been able to fix the problem of the B&W's  "Mac Help" 
quitting before it fully launches,  on  the Admin account.

Also the B&W's startup chime is now missing. I can't figure out what 
happened there. Previously it had been chiming on startups and 
restarts.

Well it definitely tells you it is not a hardware issue. Likely a 
corrupted file on the admin account. Could be a haxie too.

Boot up from the OS install CD and run your disk utility from there.
Any ideas?
Try removing any launch on start up items you have in the log in add 
ons folder.
