If you only need ATA and not the Firewire or USB then consider one of Sonnet's other offerings.
I used it in my old 9600 without a hitch, both the USB, ATA, and the Firewire.

On the other hand, if you do opt to go for a 3rd party card, one that looks worth considering is the Sonnet Tech 'Tempo Trio' card.
