The generic drives should work. The generic NEC drive I put in my B&W shows up in the System Profiler as "IOMEGA ZIP 100 ATAPI" and works fine. The major difference is that the generic drives are usually ivory in color, unlike the charcoal grey Apple used from the B&W forward.

Can you see the obvious question? Will a PC drive work in the Mac-given that they are both IDE drives? Won't the Mac just see it as another drive like it does my after market DVD burner and the two IDE drives that could be either Mac or PC?
